Natural Peace 3

Today's Nature Piece was done during a modest drizzle. Rather symbolic being as it represents that though life may bring rain and darkness, through the natural process there is still hope and beauty.

A Natural Return

Thanks to a valued suggestion of Deputy AaronB, this solution is a continuation of taking that well needed "breath". If life's struggles and worries haunt you too much, do this...

Take 30 minutes to an hour out of your day, away from any screens. Journey out into the world and collect any material that has been provided from nature itself. Make a piece of art from what you have gathered, take a deep breath - and enjoy it for it's simplicity, beauty, and temporary existence.

This act provides a sense of purpose, a connection to the world, and a feeling of accomplishment that can possibly carry you through some of the hardest moments.

A breath

Too often we strike without knowing,
too often we speak without thought.

Lo,
perhaps what is needed is a breath,
a pause to identify what is truly important.

Is it this petty hate?
or that petty need?

Indeed not,
for there is meaning and importance greater than all of us
that must be considered above all.

For whence hatred spawns,
there can be no peace.
For whence hatred spawns,
there can be no joy.
For whence hatred spawns,
there can be no humanity.

In silence sit together,
let us take a moment to pause,
and together,
take a breath.

Harsh Words Don't Die, Even If They Lie

In life we learn from mistakes, mature, and move on. But what if your mistakes can be tacked on with false accusations and then follow you throughout your entire life? It can bring a drastic change into the old adage "Sticks & Stones Can Break Your Bones —But Words Can..." cause your suicide.

Be it truth or fiction, what people type about you online can do more than just hurt feelings in real life. Some bloggers question and sometimes try to expose the identities of others who wish maintain cyber anonymity. This story in the Washington Post offers reason to why one SHOULD want to maintain anonymity in todays virtual society.

Solutions?
  • If you own a blog or forum where a person posts something unprovable, hateful, and identifies a real person, delete it.
  • If you are visiting a blog or forum where you find this happening, type only two words "Why hate?".
  • If it is YOU that can't find the maturity to refrain from posting in this way — go watch TV.
Do you have a solution? Please feel free to post them in the "comments" of this post.
