The Art of Detachment

American artist Robert Rauschenberg talks about “Erased De Kooning Drawing”, from 1953. In the 50s, Rauschenberg asked the Dutch abstract expressionist painter Willem de Kooning if he could erase one of his drawings as an act of art.

Beautiful, great find. I guess since nothing can actually be created or destroyed, even destruction is a form of creation. Saying yes is also saying no.

Spoken wisely! It's a very difficult concept. When
applied to art I embrace it totaly, when applied to war

Maybe deconstruction would be the better word.
